In an exclusive interview with Voice of Delta Radio 97.9 FM, Chief Godspower Omafuvwe Asiuwhu JP, Chairman of the State Taskforce on Environment, lauded the impactful strides made by Governor Oborevwori’s M.O.R.E. Agenda in enhancing the wellbeing of Deltans through proactive environmental policies and initiatives.
Under Governor Oborevwori’s leadership, the MORE Agenda has significantly contributed to the advancement of Delta State’s cleanliness and healthiness, remarked Chief Asiuwhu. He emphasized the government’s unwavering commitment to creating a cleaner and safer environment, citing purposeful and people-oriented programs as key drivers of progress.
One notable achievement highlighted by Chief Asiuwhu was the substantial increase in the State Taskforce on Environment workforce, from 150 to 317 marshals and supervisors. This expansion, he noted, has effectively repositioned the Taskforce for enhanced service delivery, ensuring greater efficiency in environmental management.
Speaking passionately about the importance of environmental cleanliness to human health, Chief Asiuwhu underscored the need for compliance with environmental laws and regulations. Through various communication channels such as radio jingles, street walk awareness campaigns, and television programs, the Taskforce has been actively engaging with Deltans to educate them about environmental laws and foster a culture of compliance.
In a call to action, Chief Asiuwhu urged all Deltans to cooperate in the government’s efforts to create a clean and safe environment, emphasizing that the collective wellbeing of the state’s residents is paramount. He emphasized that ignorance of the law is not an excuse, and encouraged everyone to play their part in realizing Governor Oborevwori’s vision for a healthier Delta State.
The interview on Voice of Delta Radio 97.9 FM highlighted the ongoing collaboration between the Delta State Orientation Bureau and Delta Broadcasting Service Asaba through the Orientation Panorama initiative. This collaboration aims to disseminate information about government policies, programs, and achievements, further amplifying Governor Oborevwori’s commitment to the welfare of Deltans.
